Danai was at last night’s premiere of her new movie All Eyez On Me in Westwood, California. I’ve got pictures and videos from the red carpet. All Eyez On Me is in theaters tomorrow!
Happy Mother’s Day! I’ve added a few new stills to the gallery and I’ve got an extended sneak peek video from Danai’s upcoming movie All Eyez On Me! In it, she portrays Afeni Shakur, mother of late rapper Tupac Shakur. All Eyez On Me will be in theaters June 16, 2017.
Last night, Danai was honored at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts 2017 Gala along with fellow actor and alum Andre Holland. Danai was presented with the Big Apple Award for Artistic Achievement.
Gurira, who graduated in 2004, flew in for the gala, as she is currently filming Marvel’s Black Panther in Atlanta. “I’m just very thankful I made it here,” she told The Hollywood Reporter upon arrival. “My employers were very kind to help me get out in time to make it to this and to go back to shoot again tomorrow morning. It was a close call, but they got me here.” Source: THR
“It is an astounding honor to receive this award,” said Danai Gurira, Tisch alumna and actress, The Walking Dead. “Tisch is my artistic home – being there always felt intrinsically right. I’ve added captures from last night’s epic season 7 finale of The Walking Dead to the photo gallery! I can’t believe the season is over already. I’ll be adding more stills and promo from this season and previous seasons periodically, and I’ll also be adding some other older stuff (photoshoots, etc.).
Next up, Danai will continue filming Black Panther, season 8 of TWD will start filming in May, All Eyez On Me comes to theaters on theaters June 16th, and then San Diego Comic Con is in July. It’ll be a great summer for sure!
